Ddos – Danish municipalities and public authorities

In the run-up to the Danish municipal and regional elections of November 2025, pro-Russian hacktivists ran DDoS attacks against municipal websites and public authorities. NoName057(16) cited Denmark's 28th support package to Ukraine, announced on 11 November 2025, as the stated motivation.

Impact was availability only — borger.dk and the Transport Ministry's site stayed reachable through the attacks, and there was no indication of compromise behind any of the targeted sites. The significance was timing rather than technical effect: attacks staged against the visible infrastructure of an election, for attention.

In December 2025, Forsvarets Efterretningstjeneste publicly attributed this campaign to NoName057(16), naming it alongside the Køge waterworks attack as one of two incidents carried out by pro-Russian groups with ties to the Russian state.
